Biography
YingYing Zhang, associate principal chair at China National Symphony Orchestra, graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music in 1995 under Professor MingQing Yu. Ms. Zhang studied under Professor Eleanore Schoenfeld and graduated with a master's degree from University of Southern California in 2003. Since returning to China in 2007, she has been active on the solo stage, held nearly 100 solo recitals , published numerous albums, “Cantabile”, "Tunes from the East”, "Western Classical Cello pieces", and "Chinese Cello Music Collection". Her virtuosity and exquisite musical taste and style has made her one of the most beloved solo cellists today. World renowned cellist, Natalia Shakhovskya, is particularly impressed by her "sweet cello tone".
